What our clients tell us they like most about The Blue Penguin Company Ltd is the personal attention to detail they receive before, during and after their programmes. Founder and director Leigh Otterson-Walter and her team which includes Alex Walter and Italian co-ordinator Laura Scarasciullo, take great care to ensure that each client receives the best experience possible, on an individual basis, starting with accompanied group travel from their country of origin, where appropriate. The Blue Penguin Company is a registered Limited Company in England and Wales and has full Tour Operator's Liability and Public Liability Insurance.
I loved my Work Experience placement in Brighton! I worked with a firm of Architects for 1 month, and it was a fantastic experience for me. My host family were really friendly and welcoming, and I hope to stay with them again next summer.
I really loved my stay in Worthing. The host family were so kind to me and included me in all of their activities. I am happy to return again soon.
The best part of my trip was our visit to London. We saw so many wonderful sights, did lots of shopping and ate some great food. I made so many new friends from different countries.
At just nineteen years old, with £150, a backpack and a mug, Leigh moved to the UK where she went on to be accepted onto a Training Programme in Corporate Hospitality and Catering Management at the very prestigious Harrods of Knightsbridge, London. She then moved into a career in Event Management and Logistics within the Pharmaceutical industry where she worked for 10 years.
Travel has always been on the top of Leigh’s list of priorities, and she has lived in both Malta and Israel, as well as the UK and South Africa. She has also traveled to more than 20 other countries.
By nature, Leigh is a planner – everything in her life is scheduled, planned, diarized and carried out with precision. Details are important to her, and this can be seen in all aspects of her work. In 2012 Leigh started The Blue Penguin Company Ltd, when she noticed a gap in the market for high quality, bespoke, Educational and Cultural Programmes. She wanted to provide a service for her clients whereby every tiny detail of their trip was taken care of, and where they could just arrive in the UK and enjoy their time there to the fullest.
Since 2012 Leigh has continued to provide exceptional programmes to hundreds of clients, many of whom return year after year because they appreciate the care, dedication and quality of service she offers to their families.
Leigh currently lives on the beautiful Sussex Coast of England with her husband, Labrador and three children.
